Long-Lasting Perfumes: The Best Fragrances in Our Catalogue
Share
A perfume that doesn't last is a broken promise. You apply it in the morning, and by noon it's gone. You can barely smell it yourself. Others don't notice it at all. The fragrance you chose disappears before it has time to do its job.
Longevity is not a luxury — it's a fundamental quality. And some fragrances in our catalogue were selected precisely because they last. This guide presents the best of them, with the chemical and practical reasons behind their performance.
Note: this guide focuses on choosing the right fragrances. For application techniques that maximise longevity, see our dedicated article How to Make Your Perfume Last Longer.
Why Some Perfumes Last Longer Than Others
Fragrance longevity depends on several combined factors — and none is as decisive as one might think in isolation.
Concentration
Eau de Parfum (EDP) typically contains 15–25% raw materials. Eau de Toilette (EDT), 10–15%. Parfum or Extrait, 20–40%. The higher the concentration, the more aromatic molecules remain on the skin after the volatile components evaporate.
But concentration isn't everything. A poorly formulated EDP can last less time than a well-constructed EDT. What matters is the nature of the base notes.
Base Notes
Base notes are the heaviest, least volatile molecules in a composition. They are built to last. The fragrance families that naturally produce the best longevity: musks (especially synthetic musks like Iso E Super or ambroxan), resins (benzoin, labdanum, opoponax), heavy woods (oud, smoked cedar, vetiver), amber and its derivatives, vanilla and gourmands.
Conversely, notes that evaporate quickly — citrus, green herbs, aquatic notes — do not form long-lasting bases. A predominantly fresh perfume will naturally last less time than a woody oriental.
Skin Fixation
Some skin types fix fragrances better — slightly oilier skin retains aromatic molecules more effectively. Body heat releases the perfume gradually. This is why the same fragrance lasts differently on different people.

Discover our Prestige selection for men. We selected these fragrances primarily for their olfactory quality — but also because they consistently display exceptional longevity noted by our customers and confirmed by their composition.
1. Khamrah by Lattafa — 8 to 12 hours
Khamrah is probably the best-performing fragrance for longevity in our catalogue. Its vanilla-tonka-amber-Akigala wood base is built to last — the heavy molecules of the amber accord create remarkable skin fixation. Traces are regularly reported the next day on fabrics.
Family: Oriental gourmand. Gender: Unisex. Best season: Autumn-Winter.
2. Ameerat Al Arab by Lattafa — 8 to 10 hours
Ameerat Al Arab develops a base of sandalwood, tonka and amber that anchors the floral bouquet durably. The high EDP concentration typical of Lattafa explains its above-average longevity for a floral.
Family: Floral-Oriental. Gender: Feminine. Best season: Autumn-Winter, Spring.
3. African Legend — Signature Royale — 8 to 10 hours
Inspired by Black Phantom by Kilian, African Legend from the Signature Royale Collection is built on a deep, resinous woody-oud accord. Heavy musks and oud wood forming its base guarantee remarkable projection and longevity. A fragrance that stays on skin and clothing with impressive persistence.
Family: Woody-Oriental. Gender: Masculine. Best season: Autumn-Winter.
4. Ghost Oud — Signature Royale — 7 to 10 hours
Ghost Oud, an interpretation of Oud Silk Mood by Francis Kurkdjian, is anchored on an oud and resinous base that ranks among the longest-lasting in the Signature Royale Collection. Oud is naturally one of the raw materials with the best fixation known in perfumery.
Family: Woody-Oud. Gender: Unisex/Masculine. Best season: Autumn-Winter.
5. Cristal Rouge N°3 — Collection Prestige — 7 to 9 hours
Cristal Rouge N°3 from Collection Prestige Paris is one of the most requested fragrances in our catalogue — and one of the most consistent in terms of longevity. Its woody-spicy base uses warm resins that fix the composition on the skin and maintain sillage for hours after application.
Family: Woody-Spicy. Gender: Unisex. Best season: Autumn-Spring.
6. Santal Impérial — Collection Kenzi — 7 to 9 hours
Santal Impérial is built around sandalwood — a raw material whose main molecule (santalol) is among the most persistent in perfumery. A woody-sandalwood base that holds remarkably on all skin types, summer or winter.
Family: Woody-Sandalwood. Gender: Unisex. Best season: All seasons.
7. Asad by Lattafa — 7 to 9 hours
Asad develops a base of dry woods, amber and labdanum that forms a persistent resinous foundation. After the spicy-smoky opening evaporates, the fragrance settles into a warm, woody accord that remains present for hours.

8. Liquid Brun — French Avenue — 7 to 9 hours
Liquid Brun by French Avenue is a creamy, toasted fragrance whose amber-vanilla base offers extended fixation. Its warm, deep accord makes it one of the longest-lasting compositions in the French Avenue range.
Family: Woody-Creamy. Gender: Unisex. Best season: Autumn-Winter.
By Skin Type: Adapting Your Choices
Dry Skin
Dry skin retains fragrances less well. Favour orientals and heavy woods — Khamrah, Ameerat Al Arab, Ghost Oud. Always hydrate the skin before application (unscented lotion) to create a base that fixes the molecules.
Normal to Combination Skin
All the fragrances in this list will perform well. The choice becomes a question of olfactory profile and occasion rather than technical performance.
Oily Skin
Oily skin naturally fixes fragrances better. You can apply more sparingly — 2 sprays where others might need 3 or 4.
By Occasion: Choosing the Right Longevity
Office / Professional day: Santal Impérial, Cristal Rouge N°3, Aether — controlled sillage, comfortable longevity without saturation.
Evening / Social occasion: Khamrah, African Legend, Ghost Oud, Ameerat Al Arab — strong presence, generous sillage that persists.
Versatile everyday use: Santal Impérial, Cristal Rouge N°3 — present enough to be noticed, discreet enough not to impose.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why doesn't my perfume last on my skin?
Several possible reasons: dry skin (hydrate before application), light fragrance formulation (choose an EDP over an EDT), dominant volatile notes (fresh florals, citrus), or simply your skin absorbing this particular fragrance faster than others. Try the orientals and heavy woods in this list — their composition guarantees superior fixation on most skin types.
EDP or EDT: which lasts longer?
Generally, EDP lasts longer than EDT due to its higher concentration of raw materials. But composition matters as much as classification. A light EDP based on fresh florals may last less than a well-constructed oriental EDT. Look at the base notes: musks, resins, heavy woods, amber — these are the real indicators of longevity.
Do oriental perfumes really last longer?
Yes, generally. Oriental perfumery uses raw materials (oud, amber, resins, heavy musks) whose molecules are naturally less volatile. They stay longer on skin and fabrics. This is culturally embedded in the Middle Eastern olfactory tradition, where longevity is a fundamental quality criterion.
How many sprays for good longevity?
For the fragrances in this list — concentrated and based on heavy notes — 2 to 3 sprays on pulse points (wrist, neck, inner elbow) are generally sufficient. Multiplying applications does not proportionally increase longevity, but can saturate the space around you.
Can a perfume last 24 hours?
Some very concentrated woody-ouds and orientals leave perceptible traces on fabrics for 24 hours and beyond. On bare skin, 12 hours is generally the realistic maximum. Khamrah and Ghost Oud are regularly cited by our customers as fragrances whose traces linger the next day on clothing.
